IDEAFEST Student Business Idea Competition

On 15th of May, an extremely significant event for KNEU University took place. The final of IDEAFEST Student Business Idea Competition was held within the Creative Spark  “SPARK x KNEU” project.

5 finalists presented their projects:

  1. Gomuesli - a project aimed at encouraging healthy eating, through the implementation of useful breakfasts.
  2. New Vision – a project aimed to maintain a company’s employees eye health and boost their productivity through subscription service “Vision Zone”, the area in the office, which contains the eye training equipment.
  3. ESB – is a project aimed at creating a building company that uses only energy saving materials when repairing apartments. It is a direct way to significantly reduce energy consumption and to save money both on the scale of a specific family or organization and on a country scale.
  4. Reusable beeswax wrap – a project aimed at encouraging the reduction of waste by producing an environmentally friendly multi-purpose packaging for food.
  5. Zoo platform - a project aimed at creating a united base of homeless animals in Ukraine and coordinating the arrangement of animals in the family.

The Judges from the UK, the United States, and Ireland appreciated every business idea, giving students advice concerning the implementation of their projects.

Representatives of the British Council, in particular, director of the Creative Spark Higher Education Enterprise Program - Hinde Dicker, became the most distinguished guests of the event.

The first place took the project - Reusable beeswax wrap. The student who developed this idea received a cash reward of 1,000 pounds. In addition, Henley Business Center Executive Director Jurek Sikorski presented a special prize - an opportunity to visit the Summer Startup School at the University of Reading for free.

An honorable second place (500 pounds) was taken by students with the project New Vision.

The third place (250 pounds) was taken by students who are implementing the Shelter for Pets project.

Congratulations to all the participants of this extraordinary event, you are all already winners, talented young people with creative, innovative and socially-oriented ideas!
